What happens to the aspect ratio?

When 'Maintain aspect ratio' is checked (the default), images are scaled to fit within the specified width and height without distortion. The largest dimension is matched and the other is adjusted proportionally. Uncheck it to stretch images to the exact dimensions.

Does resizing affect image quality?

Downscaling (making images smaller) generally preserves quality well. Upscaling (making images larger) may introduce blurriness since the browser interpolates new pixels. The quality slider controls the output encoding quality for JPEG and WebP formats.
