What is the HSL color model?

HSL stands for Hue (0-360 degrees on the color wheel), Saturation (0-100%, intensity of the color), and Lightness (0-100%, how light or dark the color is).

Why use HSL instead of RGB?

HSL is more intuitive for humans. You can easily create lighter/darker variants by adjusting Lightness, or more/less vivid colors by changing Saturation, without affecting the base hue.
