How accurate are the picked colors?

The colors are pixel-accurate. The tool reads the exact RGBA value at the clicked coordinate from the canvas. Large images are scaled to fit the screen, but the color is read from the scaled pixel data so it matches what you see.

HSL stands for Hue, Saturation, Lightness. It is an alternative color model to RGB that many designers prefer because it maps more intuitively to how humans perceive color. Hue is the color angle (0-360), saturation is the intensity (0-100%), and lightness is the brightness (0-100%).
